Leadership Huntsville/Madison County is an issues and skills-oriented leadership development program designed to inform, motivate and increase the awareness of selected participants through interaction with community decision-makers. All class positions are open each year, and application does not guarantee selection. Members are selected based on the following criteria:
- high standards of personal integrity
- record of achievement in community activities, or a desire to increase community involvement
- the ability to set and attain goals as demonstrated by significant career, personal and community achievement
- the commitment of necessary time and effort to complete the program
- representation from a cross-section of the population
While applications are confidential, Leadership will use the information submitted by class members in printed materials. To assist in selecting a class that reflects the diversity of the community, you are asked to specify your gender, race and/or ethnicity.
Information contained in this application is how selection decisions are made. Please take time to complete all sections thoroughly, and tell us what is unique about you. The selection committee considers how your experiences might mix with others in the pool to enrich the experience of class members. Past community service or volunteerism is weighed heavily, however, a desire to deepen involvement is also considered.
TUITION IS DUE UPON ACCEPTANCE TO THE CLASS
Tuition Assistance: If you are eligible and you are selected for tuition assistance, a Leadership representative will contact you about financial arrangements. Up to 50% of program assistance is available on a sliding scale, primarily for non-profits and governmental entities. Tuition can be paid via installments, or put on a credit card (for a 3% convenience fee).
